Today I am impulsed to share a really quick realization about why we do things that we know only create more pain and separation in our lives. Bad habits. Well they are not all bad that is why. They were originally created to serve us, but they were created from a lower state of consciousness. They are our attempt to meet a need for which we have known no other way.
So the key to changing a bad habit then is a simple process of identifying what need it is attempting to meet and recognizing that it is not the ideal way of meeting it. It may meet many needs all at once. At this point you may think it is too much work to change the habit because it was meeting nine different needs that you can only imagine meeting otherwise with nine separate activities (which you "have no time for"). So the key to having total ease with making the shift is to recognize that you don't have to know how those needs will be met newly, at least not right away. These needs are naturally met by someone who is chronically living in a centered state. Abraham would call this "the Vortex" and even a "high flying disc" which I take to be a particular attitude with which we approach life. High flying is approaching life through the most positive and joyous attitude you can. And since this is a vibrational universe you will attract to you ideas and inspirations relative to your vibrational state. In other words you will receive the ideas and inspirations for how to meet those needs. All that is left to do is not resist those impulses. To surrender even more to Joy and exuberance and trust that since the ideas and inspirations came to you while in a Joyous, high flying, centered state they will inherently create more of the like when allowed to express.
So to reiterate. All poor habits are coping mechanisms generated from a low vibrational state as an attempts to meet a need, perpetuated from unconsciousness (autopilot). Eventually we wise up and recognize that though it has been meeting those needs in part it is also detrimental and we see a need for change, which is done by getting into "the Vortex" and allowing such inspirations and impulses take us to all solutions. For this to be most effective we must embrace and thank the old habit for it's attempt to do good, and then release it. Rise to higher consciousness and be willing to ALLOW the new way to come express through us.
